Happy New Year everyone!
Had a small but sunny, sewage- and crowd-free, crystal clear Fissie for a New Year’s surf this morning,- what a start to 2010!
All the best for the coming decade! T.
Hi Helford River Man!
I don’t know much about rivers, but I know that people have taken military personnell with PTSD surfing (in Gwythian/Hayle) in September. I don’t know who organised it, but it was featured on BBC Spotlight on 22/9, and some of…

Hi Tanja
The project that I am managing is looking at health and Wellbeing in a wider context across the whole community for a range of different needs. I will certainly be looking to utilise surf, ocean, river and lake ‘therapy’ as an initiative to facilitate health and wellbeing. I’d be happy to share the results of any successful case studies for your project. You might also want to contact Rich Emerson at Operation Amped (check out their video on here). Their project would give you some great material for the positive effects of surfing! He is a close friend and would happily share his experiences with you. Good Luck
Good morning Tanja,
There are lots of links on you tube for the under-water video, but the easy way to watch it is just go on the main page and click on the video.
Any legal / tech stuff best ask Chris Hines or Rory Arneil.
Good luck.
Johnny.
PS They will help you post up any video on Blue Gym that you think is worth watching.
Hi Tanja,
My idea of posting that video up was that maybe it would help any one stuck in town, feeling a little stressed or maybe finding it hard to get to a beach - river - pond - lake - pool, this just may help to keep in touch with Blue Gym.
As Chris said in the Blue Gym video get out there-in it on it under it or (watch it)
Thanks for your comment Tanja,
All the best Johnny.
Hi Tanja,
Who am i ? Johnny Mannetta.
Where am i ? Tris Surf Shop Porthawan Beach Cornwall.
Check out The surfing Tribe, the history of british surfing by roger Mansfield ,(Porthtowan and the Badlands.). Have run the Cornish and Open surf contes for the last 30 odd years, then passed it on to SAS.
Helped Chris Hines in the fight to clean up our coastal waters, surfed most of my life and still love it.
Cheers Johnny.
