The Blue Gym team have been hard at work developing partnerships with Primary Schools in Cornwall. Already Threemilestone and Probus Primary Schools have joined forces with the European Centre for Environment and Human Health and the Blue Gym team, creating an exciting new partnership.
Rebecca Jenkin and Chloe Thomas will be conducting research at both schools during the coming weeks, looking at the effects of the natural environment on concentration and decision making in children aged 7-11. Children from Key Stage 2 in both schools will be participating in the studies, completing short tasks and activities with researchers. The Blue Gym team will report their findings to the schools and classes involved; actively involving them in the research process. They also hope to develop the school partnerships in a number of ways, potentially making use of researchers at the centre to support the KS2 science curriculum.
If your school is interested in a partnership with the European Centre for Environment and Human Health (part of University of Exeter Medical School), or you would like some more information, then get in touch with Rebecca, it would be great to hear from you.
